I tried it as well, no noticeable differences, but I prefer to stick with directx8.1 for now.

Is there a way to go back to DX8.1 without reinstalling XP?

//EDIT: Just thought I'd note:

1. I have an ABiT NV7-133R mobo with 512 RAM and a GF4 Ti4200. I have an unoverclocked XP 1900+ in there.

2. My main problem is in the Phantasy Star Online Network Trial, which has a big white screen with occasional things in front of it. I didn't have this problem before installing the timebomb-less DX9 B1. It's really pissin me off...

what i noticed with the DX9 Beta 2 was that my multi-texturing performance on 3dmark was 1/2 ed.

i re-installed the 8.1 (download for win2k, then un pack and select all the inf's and right click install and it works)

but some 9 files remain, quite a few.

anywho, i needed them under .net for everything to work right in BF 1942 (demo when it came out)
