Default Post Question about these drivers.....

What are the chances these driver could fry a vid card?????????
I had a GeForce 2 MX, it dies a few weeks ago, I am not blaming these drivers one bit, I am just asking if it is possible?????????????????????

I am wanting to use them for my new vid card.............
As I have a BP6 and they dont like running 2x AGP and running a 100 MHZ system bus......

What drivers? Omega's? Drivers will not fry a card... improper use, mismanagement and overclocking will fry a card. And most importantly OLD AGE will fry a card. But drivers are certainly not going to cause a failure like that.

Oh and to Cover-my-arse: if any set of drivers frys a card... blame NVidia/ATI... AFAIK no one around here compiles their own drivers.

Question:
Did your mx card come with a blower(fan) ??
Did you use it without one if so ??

Im asking cause alot of these cards were sold without a fan as mine did(hercules 3d prophet 2 mx200).

In most cases of a vid card burining up its mostly bad cooling or faulty fan and extreme overclocking without proper cooling.

Even certain settings of the vid card can burn it out if not cooled correctly and used over a long period of time(a game etc.)

In my experience there isnt a card out there that you can overclock with its factory cooling and not get hot.

Almost all of them need some extra fan blowing in etc.

No it did not have a hs/fan, I used a 60mm case fan attached to a PCI cover thingy from the case blowing over the GPU and ram, and over the back of the card....... I know I should have put a hs/fan on it but I figured that would have sufficed...........

There is a hs/fan on the Ultra and also ram sinks, I have the fan attached like before so it shouldnt get hot.

Right before it dies I would get BSOD saying something about the graphic couldnt refresh or something like that, I suppose that should have clued me in.....
Right before it died the screen got all goofy and garbled then it locked, I restarted it and the bios post was all little funny lines..........
