Well i was gonna post a link to a thread on the flaming zone about a month
ago but i think its been deleted.

In it was me warning potential vid card buyers not to rush in getting a "better" card
just yet.
And also making a point about how no mater how much we pay for a damn Graphics card its never enough to play a game at Full settings.

Of course im not able to prove it like these guys did in technical terms.

let's put it this way:

that's utter bullshite.

all they have to do is set up another computer to record the 1st computer's video output through the very same video input port they referred to. and you'd still get twice the speed that their utopial method could even dream of.

Getting data BACK from the graphics card is not something that many people find essential....

Though I do remember suggestions to use the power of a 3D graphics card to assist distributed processing tasks - no doubt with a rather psychaedelic screensaver effect.

what the hell arte you guys talking about?i believe the thread they wrote cause i really think the graphics card companys are holding back on the performance of drivers cause if they gave it all we wouldnt upgrade as much.and ill tell you one thing i know besides what the benchmarks tell you i dont see that much difference in my last 4 graphics cards with the same games as far as visual quality goes in the last 3 yrs.thats from my ati rage fury to my present card gf4-4400.i think theres something going on?

the only performance improvement that this issue would create is for rendering 3d frames into compressed digital video on the same computer, which is stupid to begin with. this has no bearing on in-game performance unless you are creating a video - which would cut your speed in less than half.
