best driver for tnt2 m64
i just got a riva tnt2 m64 16mb video card and i wanted to know if anyone know what are the best drivers for this card. Also can someone tell me where to get the bios so I can flash my video bios and how i'm supposed to go about it.
I got a really old computer and just bought this video card for $20CAD. I'm thinking it should be better than my onboard ATI Rage PRO 8mb video card. I dont run high end games I just wanna run Counter-Strike 1.5 at a decent fps rate. Also i wanna tweak this card to the max with stock cooling, my computer is in the basement and its always cold down there so i think its pretty good if someone can tell me how to overclock or link me to a program that can do that for me Comp Specs: hewleet Packard Intel PII 350mhz 128mb ram 12gb hd win98se |

http://www.rivastation.com/tnt2treiber_e.htm - just looked up this reference...
1. DX7 basic - 6.31 and 5.32 did well, looks like 5.32 had the balance. 2. OpenGL - looks like the oldest driver won, 5.32 seemed best of the rest In all the rest, either the oldest wins, or 5.32 wins or is best of the rest. If you are forced to load DX8 or DX9 for compatibility (or DX9b as a security patch), then it may be worth trying a DX9 capable driver, as the better integration with DX9 may win out over the worse handling of an older card. I would suggest 43.45 - 44.03 - 45.23 - or 53.04- a VERY stable driver with My Geforce 2MX For DX8, 28.32 was a pretty rocksolid DX8 driver Mind you, a TNT2 M64 is not exactly the stuff of dreams - a 64bit SDRAM bus (My 2MX has 64 bit DDR) and no hardware T&L - my 2MX is a lightweight, but it does have hardware T&L, a feature often required by many pre-current games. I doubt that flashing would be much help - you could overclock it with coolbits. Try here http://go.to/geforcefaq - a lot of it may be relevant to Detonator drivers as used with the TNT2 as well |
