New GE FORCE FX5200

OK. I got it. The instructions tell me to get the latest driver for my mother board. So I went to DELL and got it. They tell me to go to driverheaven.net/cleaner and download the program that cleans up any part of the old drivers. However I am unable to find how to download that utility. What the heck! I've been confused before. I just hate to make a mess of the computer by screwing up the driver situation. I've had the card for a week now and have hesitated to make a move of installation for fear of the possibilities. I guess what I need is an "ATTA BOY". Is it really that involved or am I just making a mountain ... ?

Thanks in advance.

OKAY!!! Got the cleaner. Reading the readme.txt it says to remove the present driver (mine is ver 2.9.5.8) via Control Panel Add/Remove. The driver does not show up there. However, in Performance/Maint/System/Hardware/Device Mgr/Display adapter/properties/driver there is a UNINSTALL BUTTON. Would this do the trick?

Thanks for the quick reply to my first LOUD SCREAM FOR HELP.

System Specs

Donator
Go to add and remove programs in the control panel and remove it from there, then boot up in safe mode and run the DH remover utility and also run the cab driver removal utilty built in the the program. "reboot "and after this unplug any connection to the internet and re-install your drivers. And Welcome to DH!!
