fps problem with GeForce 5200

In all applications except online gaming, everything with my comp is fine. But when playing online, my fps averages anywhere from 10-35. Others with my setup are running 60+ minimum. I have checked my online connection, and it flies, and my ping is usually 40-50. The server I am playing on ( our clan server ) is dedicated. I have run various benchmark and performance tests, and all tests are good, but some results in the graphics area do conflict, indicating that my graphics card may be the problem.

My system is a follows:

OS - Windows XP Pro
CPU - AMD Athlon 2500+
Motherboard - Asus A7N8X-X
Onboard sound - Nvidia MCp2 audio codec interface w. cirrus sound accelerator
Ram - 768 meg DDR
Internet connection - 10meg cable ( Charter Communications )
Graphics card - Chaintech Nvidia GeForce 5200 128 meg onboard

Note: am using the latest driver set from nvidea ( version 56.72 )

It has been suggested that this driver set may be my problem, but getting rid of it is impossible unless I reformat, and I sure don't want to do that.

Can anyone give me any suggestions on this? My fps should be flying, and its dragging bad.

Many thanks!

I've had problems with this driver set as well, so i went a lil ahead and got myself 56.77 which were for Quadro...but they are running absolutely good on my MSI Geforce FX 5200 card ( Using it on a P3-1.13Ghz system )

Went to the nvidia driver site, but found no .77 driver version for quadro. can you tell me where to get that particular driver? Would be willing to give it a try.

Thx.....

found the driver no problem, but on install, got a warning that it may de-stabilize the system, so I aborted the installation. should I ignore the warning or get gutsy?

Thx....

neither did the 56.77's. 61.80 are quite goog drivers for me... there is no installer.you have to install via hardware devices.

just run the install. if it don't work (which it should) nothing will change.
