Default Post Help with getting 40.41s to support toshiba geforce4-440 GO

I need help guys.

I have used four differant modified nv4_disp.inf files, that work great with dell 8200s and the geforce4-440 GO useing detonator 40.41 drivers.

But, for some reason my toshiba 5105-s901 won't install to my default 1600x1200, but instead loads a max resolution of 1400x1050. This leaves a 1/8th inch right side black border.
Other toshiba owners with my model as well as the 701 are having the same problem.

What i have done so far;

Uninstalled ALL nvidia files prior to download, via add/remove program through control panel and useing guru3Ds nvidia file remover from there download section.

ReBOOTED and disabled norton anti virus...no luck.

I have also put my stock driver file next to the modified one, both in notebook, and cut and paste in/out what i thought could be the problem......no luck.

What could i be missing, that causes these drivers to load 1400x1050 instead of 1600x1200?

I did find one string in the modified file that said default vert-1400, changed it to 1600, next file said default hor-1050, changed it to 1200...and yes, file save....no luck

Please help!!!!

Default Post -=40.41s r no good=-

I suggest you stick with 31.00. They seem to work the best. I myself have had problems with all sorts of things happening. Here, read my post.

When I first installed these drivers, it seemed like everything was OK. But then, when I restarted my computer, the problem revealed itself. MyNVmax, which I use to overclock my video card, and which sets these overlclock values automatically at startup, showed my an error message. Something about NVtwk not being able to initialize. This really sux cuz i do like this driver's speed and the new interface. I hope they fix it.
Also, the only resolutions i had were 640x480, 800x600, 848x480. Basically, these drivers are underdeveloped. Before they should be used, they need a lot of fixes and hopefully nVidia is working on that.
You can try this thread for more help/info.

I also had that problem, concerning the reolutions of 1920 x 1440 and 1280 x 960
which were gone. (I have an Abit Siluro GF4 Ti4400)
When i reloaded back to the 31.00 i got them back. I first used NVRefreshtool 1.0 which wasn't optimized for 40.41 but now that i have NVRefreshtool 2.0 the prob is gone, so i think if you use this version maybe it will fix it for you cause the 40.41 driver is supported this time.
At least it did the trick for me hope i helped you out

nearly forget here is an URL for it Link 1

thats cool but for anyone that wants to overclock, theres still that problem with NVmax not loading correctly, even their newest version, 4.02. unless theres a new prog or a new version of nvmax that im not aware of. let me know.

oh yeah and instead of using nvrefeshtool 2.0 u could just turn off v-sync, thats what i did.
