slight problem with new 6800GT
I just got a BFG 6800GT today and i have one little problem. When I try to exit some games (cod and sof2) the game stops responding and the gamma gets really dark. I have to use ctrl+alt+del to shut down the game and get back to the desktop. other games (far cry and painkiller) work fine though. Since both sof2 and cod are opengl games I thought it might be some opengl problem but I wasn't sure. I haven't used an nvidia card in a long time (just upgraded from a 9700pro) and i'm not very familiar with their drivers and stuff so any help would be great. thanks.
btw i'm using the official 61.72 from nvidia. |

are you sure you completely wiped your old ati drivers before installing it?

Well, I uninstalled all the ATi related stuff I had on there, powered down the system, switched the cards, booted in safe mode, ran driver cleaner for the ati stuff, then rebooted and installed the 61.72.

well, i just uninstalled the 61.72s and installed the 61.21s that came with the card. they didn't help at all =/. it seems like it must be some problem with opengl though because it only seems to happen with opengl games.

The best thing to do I think is to do a reformat (yes that is no fun) to be on the safe side.

the 62.20 drivers seem to have fixed the problem.
