System Instability Error

Computer froze while I was playing a game. Then after about 10 minutes a BSOD came up. It said the problem file was nv4_disp. Upon restart I got this error:

Computer restarted after an unexpected shutdown.
Microsoft Windows detected a possible device failure.

The driver for the display device was unable to complete a drawing operation.
Please check with the device manufacturer for a driver update.

Please tell Microsoft about this problem.

The display driver for NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200 seems to be responsible
for the system instability.

Error signature:

szAppName: Drivers.Display szAppVer: 10DE0253A200000000
szModName: nv4_disp.dll szModVer: 6.14.10.5216 Offset: E86F06EA

I currently use Detonator 52.16 drivers. How would I fix this?

one possibility is that your GPU cooler is "lossing it" mine did, it started to losse RPM's and card got overheated after intensive and demanding graphicall operations (read: gameing )

another one is that some of you other components are overheating or are set to work inproperlly. More details needed.

yea, that and the 52.16s are notoriously bad news...i would recommend at least the 53.03s if your going to go with the newer drivers...although some of the 4xxx work the best with your card.
