Default Post Former 8500 to Visiontek ti4600 with a pile of mods, what's the best driver?

Please help a poor soul who has once again been seduced by the "dark side " and traded his Radeon 8500 for a ti4600. Been about a year since I used my Geforce ddr-dvi, can someone point me towards a fast stable driver. Looked at the Nvidia web site and found the det3 and beta det4. Also noticed Omega's Nvidia drivers, always liked his set when I used the R8500. Since I run dual boot with Win 98se I need to know the best driver there too. If you guys could help me out or point me in the right direction, I would appreaciate it.

I just went from an 8500 to a Ti4200, I've been using 30.82 so far they are solid&stable.. 40.41 if you want to bench with 3dmark2k1se, but have many issues with games..

I like the newest leaked set the 31.00's, but they ain't the easiest to get to install on a GF3. (They're for GF4's though) Stay away from the 40.41 set for a few weeks, they AIN'T ready yet.

I have not had any troubles with the 40.41 personally...... I am playing UT 2003 Demo with details maxed out and it looks and plays awesome!!! I can't comment on other games....

Diablo II locks up under the 40.41's.. BF1942 ground textures are blocky at about mid distance and a few other games I have show signs of graphical anomolies..

So from the looks of things the det 4 40.41's are unstable, don't think I want to go there since I'm just adjusting to a Nvidia card again. Hey Dig, where can I find those 31.00s?

Well, the 31.00 dets for GF4 9x/me are here and the XP set is over here.

Both links pulled from a post by a real annoying jerk over here in this "whining for 40.41 9x/me drivers" thread from somewhere on the second page. The real credit goes to warp2search for the original find on them.

Thanks Dig. By the way some of the remarks I saw on that thread at nvnews reminded me of the same type of stuff I saw on the 8500 when I first received it back in Oct of last year. It almost seemed deja vu to hear someone reply to the thread and say they were dumping their GF4 for a 9700 due to bad drivers on Nvidia's part. Except in Oct 2001, it was the I'm dumping my 8500 for a GF3 threads and posts that we saw on forums. Give me a chuckle.

Then 40.41 drivers suck for TV-out. And I also gave up my ATI 8500LE 128MB. Nvidia vs ATI... I get the same IQ errors I got before. But Nvidia does win ONLY because of it Antialiasing.

But anyway I'm running the 30.82 drivers now.
