So you don't have a tv-out on the geforce 2 mx400?

The S-Video is the TV out.
With this you can clone to the TV-out. So your monitor and TV will display the same picture (with different resolutions) With Dualview you can watch a DVD on your TV and play a game on your laptop or what ever. You can also span across the screens ie when the cursor goes of one screen edge it goes to the next (either horizontal or vertical) So many things you can do with 2 screens.

how exactly does this dualview work? is it really taxing for the vidcard because its processing pixels for a game and a dvd at the same time? or does it run them on independent pipelines so they dont affect each other?
o and how does the sound work for that? sound from dvd and game same time but on different channels? or i just have to turn off sound for on or the other? |

Yes that was an extreme example.
You can with Dualview and nView (you'll need both enabled) send programs to either screen. ie surf the net on the laptop and watch a DVD on the TV. Playing a game and watching a DVD theoreticly possible would tax you GPU somewhat. (unless it was Solitaire (hehe)) As for the sound, that will be sent to the device viewed, ie if picture is sent to the TV so is the sound. On my website I have pages with instructions on how to enable both Dualview and clone mode. nView ability to enable to send pictures to various screens is another story (although not very hard)
