Default Post No One Lives Forever 2 [HELP!!!]

I've got:
Win XP
AMD XP2000+
512 Mb Ram
GeForce4 Ti 4400
Nolf2 patch v.1.1

but...

I can play only few minutes with the game and, ALWAYS, the computer stops itself...
All freezed.
So I must turn off and on again.

Because my system was a little bit "mad", I've formatted everything and re-installed Win XP.
Well, to say the truth, I've installed first the XP with SP1 integrated but, thinking that this new release of the os was the problem of the stability of the game, I've re-formatted and re-installed the "old" XP.
Now I have a stable (not for the game...) and clear system.

I've tried the game both in original way (no patch) and with the official patch...
I've also tried to change between the last detonator drivers (40.71, 40.72 and 30.82) but all the same result...

Plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Any help?

Default Post Any overclocking?

This game is REAL sensitive to it, I had to clock back my GF3 from 240/530 to 235/515 to get rid of my freezing problems.

Do you mean I need to "tune" my GF4?

Default Post Maybe, it depends....

...have you tuned it before? Mainly have you increased it's default core or memory speeds? If so, you might want to try and return it to the default speeds. THAT'S what I meant.

Default Post A MUST FOR ALL AMD OWNERS!

Yep Your exactly correct the patch will correct the microsoft error perminately...( Dont forget to save it on a CD, Youll thank me later trust me!)......This is a direct X issue with AMD processors only! This patch does not pertain to pentium owners!

Default Post via 4in1's

Another thing that nolf2 is real sensitive to, is not having the motherboard drivers installed. The Windows default drivers just don't cut it. For the longest time Nolf2 (demo) would crash, and I couldn't figure out why, and it crashed in the same way that yours did. All my other games ran fine except for soldier of fortune 2, which is also heavily graphics dependent. When I installed the via 4in1's every thing ran fine, whithout a hitch. I even got about a 15-25% increase in performance in those games. I tried the amd patch, but it didn't work. Go to viaarena.com and download the newest 4in1 drivers.
