Welcome to the forums. So what's the exact question?

The latest set of drivers (2.5.90) came out a week or so ago.

I'm now using quality Omega's 56.72 nv4_disp.inf tweaks with 65.73 drivers (and some Rivatuner too ), but it's not the same... I hope he gives us at least an answer about his drivers. If he has decided not to do them, it's free to do so, and I give thanks for all the work he has done for us. But I think it could be "polite" to say in the forums that he's working on them or not.

Awesomez0rz. BTW, which set are you going to use next? I would recommend the 66.81...since they came off of NV's FTP directly, not from a third party.

I will only release drivers that are WHQL and are posted in the nvidia website as official.

It's good that Omega does it that way too. Cause if they're WHQL ones, chances are there's going to be less incompatibilities with cards as the tweaked driver set is being worked on.

Right now, things are neck n' neck as far as hardware goes between ATi and Nvidia. ATi tends to have more releases for updated drivers...nVidia ones TAKE longer...but usually have better results with the newest release version. (IMO.)

Im finding this out the last nvidia cards i had was a Ti4400 & Ti 4600 and remembering back it was a long time between drivers then i changed over to a 9800 PRO then a 9800XT and got used to updating all the time now going back to a nvidia card its bringing it back how long it used to be to update these drivers but i must say that all the drivers i have used by omega are DEFINATLEY better than elsewhere worth the wait.

I know he is hard at work getting the new set ready so with any luck it will only be a few more days of testing before they are ready

It has me a little concerned that the drivers are the older versions, as the newer releases have a pretty good performance boost in them.

Well, It came as a surprise for me that NVIDIA decided to release a new WHQL driver, didn't expected this.

So now I'm in doubt:
Should I release the set I "already" have based on the 61.77

or

Should I use the newely released set instead and skip the 61.77

Can anyone tell me if these are better than the 61.77 so I don't have to test them much and release fast?

I'm looking for in the driver is less bugs and more compatibility, then speed.

Depends on how close they are to done. Im guessing that it wouldnt take much more time to modify the 66.81s, because they have a similar .inf file don't they?

then again, you dont really want to release a set when you're already getting ready to release a new one very soon...it seems like a strange waste of bandwith.

I would say that the 6 drivers starting with 65.73 have a significant speed boost. Also, i havent heard anything in the way of bugs or incompatibility issues from anyone that uses them.

on guru3d it is said that the 66.81s have higher IQ and compatibility with certain setups than the 66.31s, but have a slightly slower speed. They sound like a good choice to me.

in any case, you're the boss ill use whichever ones you release.

The 61.82's are for Quadro cards.

I say go ahead with your planned release of the 61.77's. They're the only ones that seem to work for everyone "all around". However, if you can pull apart the 66.81 betas and figure out where their performance boost came from...you might be able to incorperate it into your release.

i agree with this theory. sounds like the 61.77's are the way to go though...

It's not a theory, it's a fact. They're available under the Quadro section of Nvidia's site for download.
