Blurry Desktop

Last night i started my computer only to notice that my desktop was blurry, the last thing i remember doing is installing Wolfenstein ET. i tryed a roll-back but that didnt help. the screen is not blurry when im playing games but has blurry patches when viewing the desktop or internet explorer or anything ike that. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this. i have a geforce 6800GT with newest drivers. and i tryed reinstalling the drivers but that didnt help either.

Sounds to me like the refresh rate was set too high or the monitor is starting to die.
Try other desktop resolutions and see if they show the same.

Check the cable too. Wiggle it around and see if it changes. I second Omega's comment if the refresh rate was set too high for too long it could have damaged the monitor.
