Quadro FX 500 Output Trouble

My Quadro FX 500 card has two outputs, one analog, one digital. If I hook them both up to monitors, and set the card to clone, they both work fine, and I can see the same image on both screens.

If (while the computer is running) I unplug the digital screen, and plug the cable into a projector, or dvi splitter, it works fine, the image displays out the analog output to a screen, and to the projector through the digital output (or to the dvi splitter).

But when I reboot, the video card "forgets" it's outputting to the digital output, and the signal is lost to the dvi splitter or projector. Plugging the digital cable back into the monitor doesn't bring back the signal.

Is there any way to mod the video card driver/software to "force" it to always output to the dvi output, no matter what it happens to detect during bootup?

The system is Win XP pro with all updates, dual xeon, 2 GB memory.

Sorry to bump this myself, but I am pretty desperate and this forum is my best hope. Could anyone at least point me in the right direction?

Thanks,
Parallax
