Help with performance
hi, my specs
pentium 4 2.5ghz M (i'm on a laptop) 512 ram 40 gig harddrive 64 mb geforce 4 4200 windows xp sp2 ok, i know i do not have the best computer so here's my question:1. if i choose the "performance" omega drivers, would it actually improve my fps? i heard that if i'm not overclocking, there is no point in installing the omega drivers 2. how is the install process? i've heard that its hard and painful but the results are worth it. is it really bad? 3. my card is not dx9 but i downloaded dx9 anyway (i didnt know better); should i just reinstall dx8 or does it even matter at all? 4. what kind of performance increase on average can i expect if i installed the omega drivers? (i'm not expecting much cause my computer is shitty but an estimate would help greatly, i can run CS:S normally on a 16 player server with LOTS of tweaks but sometimes the fps just dips to the single digits :/ ) thank you undies |

1. it might... improved slightly my fps.
![]() 2. I don't think it as painful but it take little more time than usual driver installation. 3. If u want to play new games then use newest dx version. 4. I don't have CS:S yet but going to buy hl2 soon so I dunno. btw im using 66.81 cuz below 5x.xx seems to suck now dunno why ;( |
