Omega Drivers F'D me! help

Hi i just bought a laptop with:

GeForce4 440 Go 64M/AGP/SSE2/3DNOW
AMD 64 3200+
768 ram

I just tried to install those omega drivers and it just completely blacked out after booting. Couldnt do anything. So i roll back the drivers in safe mode and re installed the latest from Nvidia. I want to be able to play some better games and dont know if Counter Strike Source will work or any others. Can somebody tell me if the Omega's will be better than what i have or any suggestions? Thanks

I don't have an Nvidia system, but I've heard good things about these drivers

did you uninstall & use driver cleaner on your previous drivers?

are the omegas even suitable for a laptop? usually laptop gpus have proprietary drivers.
