lynch03 is on a distinguished road

Which drivers to get for my new 6800gt??

I;m currently using 66.93 drivers.

Here are my specs:

Processor:
AMD barton 2500 overclocked fsb 200mhz

Motherboard:
Epox 8rda3+

Memory:
1 gig of buffalo

Video Card:
Evga 6800GT

Sound Card:
Audigy 2

Case/PSU:
550w psu

OS: WinXP Pro
Windows Xp Pro

I've had this rig for over a year and have not touched the BIOS settings for about a year so I don't think my overclocked CPU is the problem, I think it has to be the new card or its drivers (hopefully)

I just turned on my PC, I wasnt paying paying attention and when I looked at my screen it was all blue. I don't know when during the botting process it happened.

Than I turned the power off, and right away turned it back on. This time right after the Windows Xp loading screen I got a blue background and big error dialog box with a big red X and gibberish all over it. By gibberish I mean just crap like this "╞ ╔ ♪ Γ i◄"

I than turned it off again, went into safe mode fine, ran some registry cleaner because I couldnt think of anything else, rebooted and now it seems to be working but I wonder if I have a bigger impending problem.

Like I said my video card is new. Just installed it Wednesday, and I upgraded from a Radeon 9800 pro. When I was swapping the cards I used driver cleaner and followed all the readme file steps.

By the way, that was not my first cold boot since installing the new card. I think I did one or two other times and it was fine.

So does anyone have any idea? Any advice would be appreciated.

Give the 67.03's a shot, they seem to work very well for most. Also make sure there is nothing else sharing power with the card. If you still have issues with these drivers, disable fastwrites in the bios. If nothing works then its probably best to do a clean reinstall of windows.

Edit- What is the 12v line rating of your psu?
