a few tweaks here and there, and one or two values got changed as we played with it a bit. Aside from that, we ripped out the non-english files and packed it down way small.

thx for all the hard, great work guys! looking forward to more.
the next driver release is supposed to be coming fairly soon & is supposed to have a fix for the 'pee h2o'. given some of the good things i have heard about 7150 these might be a good candidate for your expertise.
see, it is all your guys fault. bastards. you have made me into some sort of groupy. i feel so used.

i found the 71.50s on guru3d earlier today. Think imna try them out and see how they perform. Let you guys know how they are and if they still have that yellow water in HL2. If you read the thing they posted though, they said that they recommend that you run the 71.40s instead .

what did you change in this vers? i lost about 6 fps in d3 demo1.
the shimmering seems to be worse in 3d05 too. maybe something wrong with my install?
wished i could spend some time gaming so i'd know what is/isn't really going on. would be more helpful for all of us.

you shouldn't lose that much in D3, shimmering in 3do5 is 3d05 I think, except for the 71 series and they're crap for hl2, it has to do with the way the shaders are written if I understand it correctly, one of those 16/24/32 bit arguments....

blah

i was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the greenish tint to shading in HL2/Source? Alot of my shadows are green on the edges. I've seen this ever since 61.77's and have been looking for some kind of fix, but to no avail. Thought the zer0point's my fix it, but I understand if miracles can't be performed.

CS:S Stress Test

67.03
120.7 @ 355/1.04 @ 1024x768 4xAA/8xAF in-game all high

zer0point final
120.7 @ stock @ same as above
127.6 @ stock @ same as above w/ HL2 CFG

WoW

noticeable improvement in consistent FPS. Use to drop hard in huge rooms because of max draw distance.

glad you like the drivers, and as per the shadows being olive colored and the water looking like gatorade, the newer nvidia sets (those that are post january 10th, meaning we should see them in the next few days I would think) supposedly fixed these bugs, and we will probably update these drivers to one of those sets, if they work nicely.

problem fixed! reinstalled drivers got the fps back. will you do something for me & take a close look at those tests in 3d05? at least that way i 'll know it is me or not. the only reason i say this is because it appears to have gotten slightly worse over your driver releases. as soon as i get back from the river trail i'll run it again to see if the reinstall had any effect on that too.

Well, last night I formated my PC because well Windows can always use a nice wipe, but I decided to install your drivers on my new system, and I must say I've just run 3dmark05 so far and I scored MUCH higher than I ever have before with my 6800GT, The highest score i've ever seen on my card previously was ~4050 (that was OCing 375/1100), After the wipe and using these drivers at STOCK SPEED i was able to obtain 4578 on my first run. And the IQ was better than i've ever seen, I must say i'm very impressed.

http://www.patbert.com/darkcube/3dmark05.jpg

hit 5041 w/ my previous OC settings

Millions Knives is on a distinguished road

I know I've posted about this problem before so I know it isn't your driver set. In the CS:S stress test I get 101.06 fps, where aaronbond gets about 27 frames higher than me, and he has a similar card (I have the BFG 6800GT OC and he has the BFG 6800GT). I have basically the same set up as he does, but I don't understand why I'd get that much of a significant difference in fps.

When in game in CS:S i find that the fps drops to around 30-40 easily in maps like dust2 or aztec when im in action. I'm not sure if that is right or not... I keep thinking Im doing something wrong and that I should be atleast averaging 50 in action. Maybe I'm under the wrong impression about this video card, or maybe something else in my system is bottlenecking it.

Your driver set did make a difference that was noticable though, so I'd like to thank you for that. Im just wondering if there is something I'm missing to get beter performance out of my card. If anyone has any information, I'd be really greatful for the help.

Millions Knives, we're working on a performance based set shortly which will obviously probably drop IQ but increase performance, I do remember you posting about this before... what are your memory timings? Also how new an install of windows are you running? Over time windows performance degrades.... whats running in the background? All of those things can have impact on performance plus your mobo is slighty different aaronbond has an nforce3 if I read that right and you've got a VIA based board right? Source is highly dependent on CPU, especially indoor if I remember correctly, so if you can get your mem timings lower or o/c your cpu a bit your scores should improve....

Memory Timings:
3.0-4-4-8
3.0-4-4-8
3.0-3-3-8

This installation of Windows is from probably around September or something around that.

Yes the K8V SE Delux is a VIA based mobo. I have the newest Hyperion Drivers for it and the newest BIOS update.

As far as background programs:

Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal
CachemanXP
APC PowerChute Personal
Microsoft AntiSpyware w/ realtime protection
Creative Volume Controller
Trillian Pro
Microsoft ActiveSync
Hotmail Popper for Thunderbird Mail client
DAEMON TOOLS with all emulation options on
ASUS Cool&Quiet for AMD64 processors

There are a good amount of processes running, but I've disabled a lot that are un-needed.

thos memory timings are horrible. what type of memory do you ahve. also are you sure hes running on the same settings? quite possible hes on mat_dxlevel 81 and your on 90.

edit: just read your sig hah the kingston ok. well are you oced at all whats your fsb set to? if your not oced set ur ram timings to 2-3-3-6 1t if possible if not 2t. you need the best memory timings you can get right now because socket 754 doesnt have dual channel support.

True, Im on DXlevel 9.0 but I don't know what he is running.

The memory Im using is Kingston HyperX PC4000, which I thought was pretty decent ram... although my motherboard only supports up to PC3200.

yeah those memory timings are pretty bad, try and get those timings to Daishi's suggestion and I think you'll see your performance where you want it.

yeah I'm running it @ DX 9.0. Memory timings do make a big diff Million. Although you have a whole friggin lot of mem it's not processing it as fast as a CAS 2 would. btw since you have SOOO much RAM did you ever think of throwing your page file into physical memory? wanted to try it but only have 512 to work with.

or

I downloaded a program called EVEREST Home Edition that tells you a lot of system information.

It says that the CPU FSB is 200.23 MHz (original:200 MHz)

It also says the Memory Bus is 129.57 MHz

It states as well this information for SPD Memory Modules:

DIMM1: Kingston K 512 MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM (3.0-3-3-8 @ 200 MHz) (2.5-3-3-7 @ 166 MHz) (2.0-2-2-6 @ 133 MHz)

DIMM2: Kingston K 512 MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM (3.0-4-4-8 @ 200 MHz)

DIMM3: Kingston K 512 MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM (3.0-4-4-8 @ 200 MHz)

The 3.0-4-4-8 is where I got my previous latencies. But under Chipset Properties it states...

Memory Timings 2.5-4-4-6 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS)

I also checked my BIOS to see what the timings were and it states the same, so I think I got my latencies wrong before.

The command rate for the memory is also at 1T

Im not sure if this changes everything, or if what I'm looking at is even right.

In the BIOS the only thing I could find was the HyperTransport Frequency, which is set to 800MHz.
