ForceWare 71.80!!!

These drivers are dated January 20th and they DO fix the yellow water problem in HL2 as I have just tested these myself. They seem to work even better than the 71.20 drivers, but I have only tested it in HL2. Will get back to you with more results!

Good question. I don't recall seeing a 71.80 beta in the ZP Beta Site.

That could be reason why it takes so long to get it released, they spend all their time for this new *spits* multimedia standard.

71.50 has excellent quality & performance, but there are still problems. Buggy installer, a small increase in heat(huge for some) and still toxic hl2 water. 71.40 without modding ain't worth it. I recommend to stay out of 71.21->71.50, those are the ones with toxic water. 71.20 does fine, as 71.80 does. And I've even heard of 70.78's outperforming in quality over other drivers without modders aid.

The 71.80s are actually for the Quadro cards. I've heard of people with temperature problems after installing these drivers. I'm sticking with the 71.2x sets for now.

Both ATI and Nvidia are going with .NET plugins. ATI already has their Control Center. I'm not sure if Nvidia will require .NET or just have it as an option.

70.78 is also mostly for quadro cards, but it doesn't matter as far as the IQ/performance is excellent.

Ran 3DMark03....gpu temp at start was 48/41...at end was 65/56, using a 5950U. Temps don't seem to be prob compared to other drivers.
