Yup, that is the case- I was suprised when the 41.09's came out for both OS's at the same time. I gotta get off my @$$ and make the change to XP- seems like pretty soon noone is even going to support 98se.

Hi..does anybody know why the Det 41.09 WHQL drivers are double the size of the leaked drivers here?Hey man..if you can't wait I suggest doing something with your time.. such as going out and buy a chipset fan!It might sound unnecessary but the overall system improvement is much mor noticable than a detonator update..trust me!

Update!!!

I can.t wait to get my grubby fingers on the 41.xx or the 42.xx. The 41.09's didnt gain much but there was a small improvement in OpenGL!

I actually saw a 200 or so point loss in 3dmark w/ the 41.09 compared to the 40.71.

But the .09's look so much better on my win89se machine w/ AA4x and AF8x enabled and digital vibrance cranked up- it looks like I got a new monitor. I think the 41.09's were made for stability and Image quality. But they are really fast compared to the 30.xx series. the .09's are my favorite ones yet. At least that has been my experience.

Of course the 4x.xx series are gonna be faster. They are optimized for speed. Who the hell knows what the 30.xx are optimized for...no one uses them.
