are u sure it's 89Hz, cuz I've never heard of a monitor that uses the refresh rate of 89Hz. at any rate, the fact that 89Hz is not selectable, as it *shouldn't* be, and I don't think it ever was. besides 85Hz should be fast enough to not bother you at all.

yes powerstrip allows alot of options for sure.
Another interesting option in powerstrip is the ability to make custom resolutions which I find superb. for example my monitors I think are hard to read at 1600x1200, so I have set a resolution of 1400x1050 which is a perfect res for the screens. Also be aware you can probably force the monitor refresh rate a little higher than the company specs. My monitor recommended 1600x1200 is 85hz but it can hit 90hz with powerstrip. a great tweaking tool ! |

Freedom is a feature.

Same situation that I heard that some monitor can have 68Hz at some resolution, but you can select only 60.
It is just manafacturer specification, nothing more.

dont u risk f*cking up the monitor going over the manufacturers specs? i really really dont wanna risk anything with this baby i got just 2 days ago.
i cant tell for sure, but i tihnk my old monitor started misbehaving after i tried omegacorners modified nvidia drivers and i started experimenting with resolutions like 1420x1080 etc. in the end it was so bad it was all a blur, its NOT gonna happen with this one. |
