New Development 80.40 Forceware Driver
Once again we give you yet another release. This release I don't believe should of been leaked, but who cares right? lol! Major props goes to one of our forum members who have been using this version for quite some time on their 6800. Member says that this version adds H.264 hardware decoding to the 7800 series. What's interesting is their is no version number presented in the nv4_disp file. Plus some new entries are apparent in this release too. The C51 chipset by NVIDIA as well as a G72? I have these installed on my crummy GeForce 2 MX for verification.

Tried them last night. The video washout bug is still there although still fixable from the colour control panel. When the machine first boots I get an nvsvc32.sys crash (I assume this is something to do with this new driver since it wasnt there at all before) and also Stardock Object Dock doesnt work at all any longer.
Think I will go back to the 77.50 betas.

Wash out bug? I don't see no problem with the color, what do you mean?

When you play video files the colours are all washed out, it affects my 6800, but if you enable VMR (NVtweak gets it on), then the colours are sorted, apart from that this is a decent set, worth a go, no bugs encountered so far except the BF2 shadow flicker bug.

With these drivers the dynamic lighting in BF2 is slightly screwed, other than that they run faster then the latest offical set.

Apart from that the drivers are very good, IQ is the same high standard as usual with minimal shimmering effects, speed is good, just as high as the best 7x.xx series, I like them so far, I wonder how this series will develop...

i gave em a shot today.
- bf2 shadow bug - a little bit slower than the 77.62 set (at least for me and my sys) - the 2d windows screen was a tad too sharp (i'm not kiddin' -> to sharp text on a tft is bad cuz the text gets a white corona) i'm disappointed.
