Nvidia driver driving me nuts!

Well, for a bit of nostalgia, I decided to go play Tron 2.0 for a bit...

Only one problem. Huge blocks of text, menu items, etc seem to have dissappeared! (This is on a geforce FX 5200)

The ONLY thing that seems to fix this is installing the absolutely ancient drivers off the CD-rom... And I KNOW I went through several driver updates while I had Tron 2.0.... So I'm completely stumped?

Anybody know what's up with this? My brother claims that Nvidia made some "shortcut" fixes that have been causing trouble with some games. Is it possible to bribe our resident driver tweakers into fixing this?
