Overclocking 7800GTX

When I purchase my 7800GTX should I overclock it if the fan can support it well enough? Because I don't think I will really see that much of a performance increase except maybe on like 3dmark05.

a 7800GTX will be CPU limited ... so no need to oeverclock until you got a better CPU ...you might get a bigger increase by overclocking your CPU instead.

what AMD would I need to run it without bottlenecking and what one would I need to overclock it?

you can overclock your 2600 to 3200 by upping the FSB to 200mhz and then get the full performance from pc3200 ram ... but for a 7800GTX the right processor should be a AMD64 3500 or more ...

Thanks a bunch cause that is exactly what I can afford and am planning to get, may get dual core later, but that should do for now.

with a AMD64 3500+ and a 7800GTX you should be all set ..dual proc are still a bit expensive and there s no game gaining profit from them ... i ve read somewhere that it could take a while before game use it because it is really hard to program for ....
