big bug

There seems to be a rather large bug with the game, Battlefield 1942 and this driver release. I recently upgraded my rig (from a barton 2500 and a KV7 to a venice 3200 and a AV8) and I wanted to test these drivers out with all my games as I do with every new driver release. I was rather shocked to find that these drivers seem to remove the fog in BF1942, as shown in the image below. I did not have this issue with the same hardware, and the drivers I had prior, which I believe were from 2 releases back
http://www.spline-designs.com/members/bf42bug.jpg
(56k warning shot is 1600x1200 and about 1.5mb compressed jpeg)
My specs:
Windows 2000
Abit AV8
A64 Venice 3200
Leadtek 6800GT (405/1170)
WD 74gb raptor
ZP 8184 drivers with default settings

On a side note I am an avid Battlefield 2 player, and have had no issues running these drivers, and they did improve my performence by a few fps. I run BF2 at 1600x1200 on high, so I need every frame I can get, and now it seems to be staying above 50 at all times, while before with the prior ZP releases, I would drop down rather low in large servers with a lot of action. I have no problems with shadows or lighting with this release.

yes, it appears that on games with a massive draw distance, fog is becoming an issue with this release, we're on it

glad BF2 works good for ya though

and the BF2 bug we fixed is some 7800GTX owners were experiencing horrific lag/spikes, and we ironed that out

Everytime I reboot my pc, I get this lovely popup:

I also can't seem to remove the 78.03 drivers you guys made. It's not a big deal, but it's something that didn't even resolve itself when using the Driver Cleaner, or the tutorial on how to remove them.

Am I correct that there is no built-in F.E.A.R. SLI profile with 81.84 and 81.85 betas?

This means since there is no profile for FEAR, the game will only run in single GPU mode unless your create your own SLI profile, right?

I'm having a few issues with these 8x.xx releases. For now I've rolled back to the dhz 78.03 release and everything is running smoothly.

With the 8x.xx drivers I get frequent ingame pausing, and in some games quite a bit of "flickering" like texture breifly disappearing(split second), seeing through walls, etc. Also some performance drops as well. The easiest example would be 3dm05 scores - With 8x.xx drivers it's ~3500, with 78.03 drivers it was an even 5000.

I'm running XP home with SP2, the rest of my specs are in my sig.

These drivers are really nice, I can run BF2 and Q4 very well, but WoW seems to have problems drawing terrain from distances, almost all mountains and objects from far away have distorted colors.

forgive my newness here. I have 6800gt and I'd like to try the DHzer0point drivers. I was using the Omegas but I had to reinstall I'd prefer to use drivers that are being actively supported.

So would you recommend this driver for a 6800gt or is it just for the 7800's?

thanks!

Thumbs Up!

Just popping back to say I love these drivers! I'm getting both better performance & higher settings in my games since I switched to these.

Kudos to the DHzer0point Team!

I still get the popup window on every load. Do I need to go modify some .dll's or what seems to be the issue? I'm pleased with the driver's performance overall, I would just like to deal with as little problems as possible.

???

Few qeustions.
Using 76.44 now on 6800GT card.

Problems - 7644 seems many times forget the settings for monitor - and refreshrate. By "settings for monitor" I mean do NOT display a resolutions higher that I choosed as maximal in monitor driver. And refreshrate manytimes get reverted back to 60Hz from 100...

Wanted features - the possilibity to REMOVE resolution - eg. unlock this button:

...and is there possible enable the DoubleScan (at least by the stupid way it was in drivers before, like for all the lower resolutions, witch was 800x600 and bellow?) ...?

Thanks for informations and keep up the good job!

Lighting and or Shadow Bug

I'm getting some sort of lighting-shadow bug going in Halo. When I go thru a hallway it is comepletely dark unless I look up at the lights then it is normal and lighted? On outside land, lighting is dimmed a bit unless I look up at the sun? Also I'm getting color variations on the walls and ground from normal to like a green color? Is there a parameter I need to set or what?

I had this too, I went to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ and deleted DHzpcolor.vbs. No problems after that.

Cool! Issue with 81.84 drivers

I ran into an issue with the DHZP 81.84 drivers. Apparently random BSOD. Both I and a friend of mine have HP NX9500 laptops with the Geforce FX5700 vid chipset. On both machines, we experienced random BSODs in 3d games. Mostly these happen in BF1942 / Vietnam. Reverting back to 78.03 resolved the problems. I dont think this is a problem with the DHZP release so must as a problem with Nvidia's 81.84 drivers in general.

thanks for the feedback, I must say I ran into one BSOD on that set, but I kinda thought it was because I had been fiddling with Creative Audigy 2 drivers at the time.....but yes, no such BSOD's found in newer sets

Sad

I bet that w/o a screenshot is hard to tell

If I see something weird, like this:

http://ax2.old-cans.com/s.php?p=bf2&id=67&c=8&d=1&v=v2

...I automatically take a screenshot. This is IMHO BF2 1.03 bug, since BF2 1.00 is fine, it started in 1.03

Dhzer0point wont uninstall

Ok I tried 8184 and it was not working out so went back to 7803. I was fine for a while so now I would try the latest nividia driver. I uninstalled DHzer0point and then uninstalled78.03 driver, I rebooted and then the hardware wizard comes up and it asks install VGA Adapter drivers, I cancel that, then it says and heres the problem "Found new hardware Nvidia Gforce 5200 "DHzer0point".

I rebooted into safe mode and use Drive Cleaner Pro to remove the Nvidia remains. Now I reboot and still the same thing "Found new hardware Nvidia Gforce 5200 "DHzer0point". I tried the uninstall bug fix method "http://www.hardwareheaven.com/showthread.php?t=87537"
but if I tell it to search it automatically attempts to install the DHzer0point driver.
So am I screwed now or what please advise.
