these are exactly the ame as the beta .85. so fi you have those installed do not bother.
perf wise i do not think these will be much if any better than .84. the big thing with this release is all the 'fixes'.

I upgraded to the 81.84 beta's from 77.77 and all my .avi vids were in black and white. Had this problem with all the drivers after the 77.77's. Anyone know of this problem and if it has been solved with the 81.85's?

I'm running 2 BFG 6800GT's O/C's in SLI. Thanks.

I'm also running 2 6800GT's in SLI (Leadtek). I believe I had the issue you're experiencing a few drivers back.

Try this.

Go into your Nvidia control panel.

Select Color Correction.

Under Apply color changes to: select All

Under Color profile: select advanced

Click apply.

This fixed my issue but messed up fonts somehow. I then changed advanced under color profile back to standard and clicked apply. The original issue was still resolved and the fonts went back to normal as well.

Hope this helps.

Enable VMR in the video overlay setting, when you don't see this checkbox use nVTweak and enable VMR option.

Not necessarily always the case "dud"...lol. If there's no major improvements then I'd rather wait for the next batch...

Yes, they're worth downloading... but don't forget to stay tuned...
Might not hurt to ask what hardware you're running.

If you're running SLI, then these are a MUST have since they finally fixed the Vsync/DirectX issue. If you're not, then read the release notes and see what improvements/bug fixes they include.

By the way, Nvidia released "official beta" version 81.87 drivers today.

Man, i had some real issues with these drivers. For the moment i've switched back to 78.01. I uninstalled the old drivers, and then restarted in safe mode and used DCPro1.2 etc, and then installed the new ones. When i tried to set my refresch rate back to 75hz (how i always have it) the screen went blank. I restarted the computer, but it was still blank... monitor didn't turn off, but would no longer manually turn off either. I unplugged it and then plugged it back in, and tada... i could see again. I then tried switching to other refresh rates and it did the same thing. So i put it on 75, unplugged and plugged the monitor back in again. Then i loaded up BF2, and the screen went blank once again. It could always be fixed by unplugging the monitor.

Then, after restarting the computer, i noticed all my icons in the quick launch bar were for the wrong programs, but the buttons still linked to the right programs. It was then i decided i'd get rid of them and revert back to the older drivers, and since then i've had none of the problems again.

My system:
Athlon XP 3200+
XFX 6600GT 128mb AGP
2Gb generic (cheap) ram

The only problem i have run into with these drivers is, i'm getting a false core clock speed on my evga 6800nu, with 3DMark05 and Everest i get 10 MHz . I get the same results with all 81.xx drivers, when i change back to anyother driver i get 324 MHz. Also my 05 scores are about 100 points lower than the 77.77 WHQL's

Yeah I've had issues too. I'm using a 6800gt and in SIms 2 the shadowing is screwed and some weird 'water' problems where it changes to yellow...never seen this before...

ihave been underwhekmed by the 80 series so far. the upsides to these drivers seem to be matched bt the downsides. think i will stick with the 78 till nv gets them ironed out.
