Sad Blue Screen of Death

Okay...I have a Leadtek A400LE (AGP 8x 6800LE) on a MSI Neo2 FISR (865PE Northbridge, ICH5 southbridge) running a 2.4G Northwood. I have 2x512MB Kingmax PC3200 3-4-4-8. I use integrated Realtek audio codec and integrated 10/100 NIC. 40 GB WD Caviar drive, 160GB Samsung, 52x24x52 MSI CD-RW, and 16x MSI DVD-ROM.

Now on to my issue...all of my hardware has worked find in the past, with no BSD's and whatnot.

Only mods to the card are the use of RivaTuner's NVbootstrap to unlock pixel pipelines and vertex shaders, which I removed at the first sign of trouble.

So earlier in the week, I installed DHZP 78.03's, after properly uninstalling the nvidia WHQL 77.xx's with drivercleaner pro. I start having random lock-ups with a white, fuzzy display. So, I uninstall them and go back to the Nvidia WHQL's, have Blue Screen of Death that cites nv4_disp.dll as the problem. Then I tried the DHZP 81.84's, same issue. So, I uninstalled the graphics driver and there are no problems what so ever. I then go through my registery and windows/system32 and windows/system32/drivers to delete all files that start with "nv". I then realize that the new WHQL 81.85's are release, install them, and STILL have BSD with nv4_disp.dll as the cited problem.

Does anyone know whats going on? Is there anything that I'm missing? I've done everything that I know and have been able to find and now I haven't got a clue-I've been over my BIOS three times and have searched my hard drives, registry, and system32 SEVERAL times for any remaining nvidia files. I'd rather not have to format as backing up 20GB worth of stuff is a pain, any way you look at it. I appreciate the assistance!

ok did you run driver cleaner in safe mode that is where it can delete the files more properly then install the nvidia driver set and maybe uninstall the programs that you used to run the mod

Default Post

I've uninstalled RivaTuner and I ran DriverCleaner Pro in Safe Mode AFTER I uninstalled the drivers...just to clear things up.

I just tried an Albatron 5700Q and have the same error. Also, the hex code for "what went wrong" is 0x00000000 0x00000008 0x00000000 0x00000000 0x00000000.
