rolleyes So Complicated ?!?

I never realised there was so much to the driver scene. I assumed that the latest drivers were the best. But after reading a few posts this is not the case. Is there a list of which version of Det drivers work best for which cards or you guys just happen to know?

Anyways, I was wondering which set of Drivers are best for my Hercules GeForce 3 card for both WindowsXP Pro and Windows98SE running DirectX 9.0? And where can i find/download them?

Much help appreciated.

You might want to do a search at Google for Detonator comparissons. There are several sites that have decent data comapring the drivers.

As for downloading try 3DChipset, Guru3D for starters they have most drivers covered.

4x.xx series = faster, less stable, some graphical glitches
3x.xx series = slower, but ROCK SOLID

42.02 are, as far as i know, the only dx9 compatible drivers, but this doesnt mean much considering nvidia cards dont take advantage of dx9 features, nor do any current games for that matter.

well ive had problems with 2d graphics (emulators and such like) with ALL of the 4x.xx series so far, and some of the control panel screens were usually buggy as hell (nvrseng.dll ring any bells?)

I like the 42.09 set.

The 42.09 set works well for me in both 98se & XP on me GF3.

No, but...

...you can usually find the latest ones available at some good speeds to download here or alternatively for beta stuff over here at DriverWorld (No relation, but I sure like 'em! )
