radeon 9700PRO omega & catalyst: bug or wrong settings?

Hi there,

I was wondering why my radeon9700PRO is that slow so i installed the drivers for it on my system again. after install & reboot the system is slower than before some examples:
*when i click left on my desktop context menu appears very slowly
*windows drag & drop is slower than everything
*games wont got 1-10fps (counterstrike,...)

so you see that drivers making problems, the only way to solve this is go to device manager -> Graficscard -> deinstall -> reboot -> wait for autoinstall hardware -> reboot again
then the default windows drivers installed again and run normal but not good....
the information on drivers installed in extended montor settings displayed are the newest catalyst / omega but i dont think that they are used then

i had that problem before i tried the newest catalyst and then the omega so its always the same....

also Sisoft Sandra says that my Grafics bios is too old... what to do then ?

Do only Omega's drivers exhibit this problem? What about other drivers?
Did you uninstall and clean your old drivers out properly using DriverCleaner Pro? (this is critical)

Good to hear you got it working.
As for the video BIOS, you really don't need to upgrade it, so just ignore that message.

There is a thread here: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/windows-xp-radeon-display-drivers/80292-ati-tray-tools-advanced-tweaks.html concerning advanced tweaks in ATT. I don't know if that will help you out.
As for playing videos, can't you increase the size of the video output through the player? I know MediaPlayer Classic can resize the window of the video...
