Tray Tools min-max Temp question
Hi guys, I'm a newbie here -
Firstly I have read these driver posts for last 3 yrs now & have found it v useful; I'm now enjoying the ATI Tray Tool -thanks for that Ray (using with ATI's 5.11's, as for my card I find them the smoothest/quickest & with v good IQ, v6.xx are mainly beneficial for X1xxx series?) Now I have a temp-readout in my tray, hence my first question on this site: I've got an X800XL, not overclocked (ie using "default values" on the Hardware/Overclocking Settings) & the temp ranges from 49c while I write this (2d stuff..) up to 70c with intense driving/flying sims, - do these temps sound ok? (& does "default values" mean not-overclocked?) (I've trawled here & with Google but cannot find answer to trust, just lots of opinions..

Not bad. But not so good. Its better to change cooling system on your board. For example my X800XT PE even overclocked under heavy load reach 60-65 with Arctic Cooler

There's no real need to replace the cooler. 70C is fine, maybe a little higher the average but certainly nothing to worry about.

Thanks Ray & H3 for your replies; I decided to fit a cooler from Zalman -no particular reason -shop in London was out of Arctic Cooler 5's... Zalman looks a nice piece of kit, (am aware that it doesn't exhaust out-of-case but only have heat prob with graphic card anyway) -will let you know results when fitted.
