mantra is on a distinguished road

looking for ati drivers with controll pannel

Hi
i'm a omega user , and i love them

by the way i uninstalled them and installed the official drivers

but i did notice that there is not the control panel anymore
there is only Catalyst Control Center , that for me is a crap

my question is :

is there an ati catalyst official packed with control panel ( desktop-->propriety-->advantage..) ?

could somebody tell me the last catalyst with control panel?

thanks

I think that the last release that came with CP was 5.9 or 5.10 (you can try "older drivers" on ATi's site). You can also use CP from an older driver set with the new drivers, as it hasn't changed for a long time anyway. Or you can download a modded driver set that comes with CP, like Extreme (which I'm using right now). Or learn to live with CCC. It's not as bad as it used to be and it doesn't hurt performance.

You can get most any flavor of ATi drivers over at:

www.majorgeeks.com

Just check the Driver option in the left column.

They are weirdly sorted, there are others on pages 2 and 3 (5.1 and later). 5.11 were the last that came with the CP (just checked) and they were very good, as far as I remember.

I don't usually use modded drivers so I can't make a comparison. I chose Extreme because of their sub 10MB download size and CP which enables AAA and I found them not slower than the official drivers and issue free so I kept them.

I'm not sure if that's the homepage, I downloaded them from the link in this page.

EDIT: Tweaksrus isn't the driver's homepage, it's http://www.driverpack.ru/ (don't know why Google isn't doing it's job here).

I learned to live with CCC, specially after someone said this geometry instance boosted performance quite a bit
