Hello to you all,i've got a problem
i wanted to get catalyst AI working without the CCC for my Radeon 9800XT; I got the ATI-Tray-Tool that seems to work properly for every games i have, except for Pacific fighters... ![]() =>The Cat-AI doesn't work, thus the fps loss when water-shaders is activated is quite dramatic. Some months ago,i tried the AI with the HEAVY CCC,and that works correctly, with some good more fps! Can anyone help? What is wrong? Here is my rig: MB=Asus A7M266 CPU=AthlonXP 2400+ OC @ 2400Mhz (Vcore 2,0volts) OS=WinXP Pro SP2 RAM=1024MB GC=Hercules 9800Pro 128MB bios flashed and occked @ 9800XT @ 452/385Mhz cooled with a taisol CGK760 ![]() Driver=Cats 6.3 without CCC ATT version=105880 RC thx by advance Problem solved, see below!

What's wrong? It's Il2. Not exactly the best coded game out there (despite what all the 'Oleg fanbois' say).
If it was working WITH CCC then why not go back to it? I've been running Il2 for quite some time now. Started with it on a Athlon 1.2/9500 Pro system, and now on this one (which had the 9500 Pro, 9600XT, and now this X800XT AIW), and I've never had a problem using CCC, and never had a resource problem due to using CCC. I do notice that Il2 runs a lot better in OGL mode with the X800, where it ran better in DirectX on the 9500/9600. If you are using OGL with that 9800, you may want to try DirectX instead. You can find me on Hyperlobby as RAF_OldBuzzard...generally in RAF662 squad practices around 2000 to 2400 EDST, and at other times in the RCAF server, or _AH squad games.

ATT has issues with changing certain settings sometimes so I'm not surprised CATAI isn't working. I would recommend going back to using the CCC.
One small example of ATT messing up settings would be : http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?t=33855205 Theres plenty of other issues which ATT causes / has caused in the past too.

Thanks for your answers
![]() Finally,AI works in PFighters! I didn't noticed it before, because the fps gain seems quite low, even when AI is set on "High" What i mean is that AI whith my previous catalyst 6.1 with CCC gave me huge amount fps, whereas my 6.3 with ATT @ same settings gives less, with a better image quality however. It is like if the AI was less agressive, maybe for preserving image quality? I dunno If someone knows how to force the AI to works as it worked with the cats6.1 i had,i would appreciate his/her help

Problem solved!!!
The catalyst 6.1 (and their atioglxx.dll file) is THE driver which permitt to use an agressive A.I. with many many FPS gain in IL2/AEP/Pacific Fighters! ![]() The cats 6.2/6.3 and i imagine 6.4 don't do it anymore, for maintaining image quality i suppose. Anyway,as i didn't want to use the heavy CCC on my old system,i use ATTools which can activate the Cats 6.1's A.I. without CCC or NetFrameWork installed. So NIiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice. All works with very good frame rate, water shaders activated and all of that without any useless processes in windows'background. ![]() I'm so happy, and thanks a lot to the ATT creator! ![]() @+ |
