Thought It was fixed and then It wasnt

Rite it now seems my problem stems to heat i reckon cos my cpu internal temp is 74 and my shutdown in my bios is 75
So i guess it must be getting too hot , So i guess its time to get the artic silver out , can any one suggest the bets type of fan for a 1900 not too expensive but will do the job.
And also a guide for sorting the ati radeon pelter woudl be nice

Hmm this is confusing your temp is 71 degrees ? What is the normal temperaters for the 3 temps given by the bios tempo readings ?
Can ppl list thiers so i can conpare to see if indeed heating is an issue.

My AMD used to run around 100F, and never really got over 110F, even on hot days.

I hate to sound negitive... but even with standard HS grease, your temps should not have been that high... unless the HSF was not seated properly. AS3 vs. Dow Corning (standard HS grease) will make 5-7 degrees difference... and that is an improvement, but 20 degrees! That isnt just the AS3... that really sounds like the HSF was not seated properly. But, as long as it is sorted out. Also... 54*C still isnt great, you might want to look into better cooling... and if you dont have any case fans, or if you only have one... gets some, the HSF can only get more efficient as temps drop. Good luck!

By the way I wount completely trust you mobo sensor... I use anther sensor to make sure its right (motherboard sensors can be flaky). Also I use the tuch test... I run my system game for a whiler bechmark what ever... get that cpu hot... now reach in case off (dont tuch nothing but what I tell ya or you'll desrve what ya get.. zzzz shock...), reach in and tuch your cpu cooler along the side, if it feels warm to the touch, heatsink fan sucks or you cpu votage is set to high (be carefull not to tuch the caps ect around your cpu)

if your at 54C setting your too hot!! as a rule of thub at the shop never above 50.... even under load... get a new cooler!

I agree eather his cpu was seated wrong or his thermal paste was contamiated, or he had way too much on thier.... He has probubly forget to ben the mobo sensor up a lillt before repaceing it or has accidentally bent it down so its not reading all the heat! would be my best guesses

just like to say that before This happened my computer had been running fine for 6 months odd
Without temperature problems so the heatsink / fan was obversly put on correctly
maybe the greese broke down , who knows

To be honest the heat seems fine judging by everyone in my houses temps which seem to be higher than mine.
I reckont eh crash was caused by teh mb cutting out (as i had the bios set to cut out at 75) .
Can`t really ffink of much else i can do to my computer to make it cooler (4 fans) in case without going to water cooling.
Which seems a bit extreme just to get my cpu down a little.

(Before anyone flames me for inacturacies I`m a coder not a hardware guru )

Well with massive overclocking, and HUGE amounts of power being thrown to my 1600+ (running at a little over 1900Mhz) my Idle temps are in the low 30s, and my max temps are in the low 40s when at 100% CPU usage. Using a Thermaltake Volacno 7+ (highly recommended - but not for newbies)
