System Specs

Downloading them and reading Release notes.
I will post feedback soon (but I don't suffer problems with 3.0s, so I don't know what to really expect)

System Specs

# 3Dmark2003 GT4 runs a little slower than expected on certain chipsets where AGP writes are disabled. A future CATALYST™ will resolve this and provide a higher benchmark score
# 3DMark2003 has some minor corruption on the RADEON™ 9500 and RADEON™ 9700 series cards when running in Anti-Aliasing modes. This however does not impact scores

Hmmm... tomorrow's techonology today.

On a happy side note..

...this is me first real driver release since getting broadband and it is a HELL of a lot nicer this way! I already got 'em all! Thanks again, I can't wait to give these a try later tonight! (The wife is still home sick, so I can't play with me 8500 'til a bit later. )

This set is the best ATI set yet IMO, it has solved some issues with games I have tried and its the smoothest ATI set yet. Terry and the team keep giving out the goods. so everyone get installing and posting.

Give Terry and the guys in ATI some feedback !

It seems that these drivers finally have 16bit FSAA too. I'll be trying them out soon.

Finally installing one driver over the old one (without uninstalling it) worked 100% successfully! Uninstalled older CPanel and installed these over old ones. Then installed newer CPanel after restart. So far, so good. My 9100 seems to like it

This set finally solved my NHL 2003 hickups I was having with all previous driver sets. So far so good.

As a little side note, I am working on a driver comparison report for you all. I hope to have it up shortly.

Hope everyone experiences the same smooth play with this set like many already have posted...

When I set window to transparent it first becomes black and then transparent (it doesn't occur with really small windows only). It isn't driver depenedant (since it happens with any version) - why this happens?

I struggle to find any problems with this set. It solved many issues I was having, and is the smoothest set I have seen yet.

I will try and be on the lookout for problems, but this set is possibly one of the best I have encountered in the Catalyst series.

Big Grin

I like new overlay clone mode options.

Hopefully this driver will improve rather frustrating unreal2 experience.

I hope that Mr Catalyst Maker won't get upset by knowing that I'm to lay my dirty hands on this brand new set of drivers in orderd to make it work with my M7...

I'm sure I won't be disappointed!
Keep on the great work

For those who missed the juicy info

Today we have posted another CATALYST update as CATALYST version 3.1. This time the unified driver gets updated with even more features, performance and stability. CATALYST drivers are still the only DirectX9 fully compatible and certified 3D acceleration drivers out there. These are available at

RADEON(tm)8500
The following section provides information on performance improvements noticed on the RADEON(tm) 8500. This includes:
