I have a radeon 8500 and all was working well untill 3 days ago when (above screenshot) happened...Other specs are...
ASUS A7A266
Duron 800 mhz
60 GB HDD
Maxi Sound Muse sound card(Yamaha)
512 MB PC 133

I have w buffer and alternate pixel center off, though having it on doesnt much matter either, Smoothvision is all the way down and so is Anisotropic filtering.

OK guys, any thoughts??? I just flashed to the sapphire bios(7008) and installed the spec. edition X43 drivers. And Im still having the same problem. Could it be a T & L problem and if so is there any solution aside from buying a new card? Please I am desperate. If you feel you need more infor on anything I have and/or have done let me know.

I don't think that's a problem with the card. Looks like a game or driver bug. Have you tried reinstalling the game? Also, make sure you do a clean install when you switch from Omega to ATI drivers and back. (i.e. remove all registry entries).

BTW. What game is that?

This is off a format and clean install of xp. I had the problem, formatted reinstalled, flashed my 8500's bios and installed the x43 drivers. and yes its gta3. when i tried the ati, i did remove all the registry entries. It also happens with Morrowind, I dont have any other games installed so I cant test any more.

Morrowind too?

Try downloading 3DMark2001 and see if its messed up too. If everything is corrupt and you did the clean install thing then I may have to retract my "not your hardware" comment. Since each game you tried has the same symptoms it is possible that you have bad memory or some other HW issue. I used to think that HW problems like that would cause a total failure. That is until recently. I had an OEM Athlon that worked (kinda). XP would blue screen during startup. I swapped every component in the box and couldn't fix the problem Finally swapped the CPU and haven't seen a BSOD since. Try 3DMark and if its bad, try and get another card (hopefully you still have warranty?).

www.madonion.com <---- download 3Dmark.
