CAT 3.1 NOT as stable as 3.0 (own pt of view)

Dear all (especially those ATI guru),

I am using Win2K SP3, after installed Cat 3.1, crashes always occurs. It has......

A Blue screen - with PAGE NOT FAULT...blah blah blah...and it indicates "ati3d2ag.dll"

It crashes when I play almost every 3D games, either a blue screen or the program crash.

Then I went into Safe Mode, uninstall and install back 3.0, everything's fine......

I was disapointed with the 3.1's and have gone back to the 3's or should I say Omega's based on the Cat 3's and I'm hoping his new release scheduled for this weekend fixes a lot of the problems of ATI's release.

For the 9x set I can NOT get the refresh rate over 75Mhz, I'm back to the 3.0a (or rev2, or whatever) set me own self.

hmm no problems, XP or win98....... this refresh thang is weird, mght be a Monitor inf, or DDC issuse?

any ways how did you get a AVATAR at 200+ posts? gibbon565?

Mmmm, I feel sorry for you guyz but on my sys the CAT 3.1 runs very good.
Especialy MAfia is realy running at it's best now.

ok lets keep this going..... dont uninstall the 3.0s, just install the 3.1s .... if you dont like smartgart you have to install from the device manager... then install your monitor drivers, then set the DX Override.... tell me how it works..

I haven't uninstalled 3.0 and just straight upgrade to 3.1

The 3.1's run fine for me, it fixed the problem I had with Neverwinter Nights freezing and locking up the computer after 2 seconds. I can actually play the game now! All my other games seem to run just a bit better as well. I'm pretty happy this time with the drivers.

I'm gonna just wait for the Cat 3.1a (or rev2, or whatever) set! (BTW ATI-PLEASE name them differently this time, I'm so sick of typing "(or rev2, or whatever)" every time I reference that set!)
