Default Post New official ATI openGL driver anyone?

ATI quietly released a "patch" for SoF2 that turns out to be a new openGL file.

I can't confirm or deny this one as I'm currently ATI-less, (Hey ATI! Please send me an 8500AIW to replace this GF2 with!), but I got it off a thread at Rage3D.

If you want to link to the file directly, get it here from ATI them ownselves.

Sorry if this is old news, but I haven't been keeping up with the ATI side of things and my little birdy has barely gotten his breath back.

Considering these drivers are suppose to fix problems in SOF2, I could say that I wasn't hoping for a Holy grail of OGL drivers. Basically, this OGL driver is stable, but slows down games I play (GTA3, JK2) and are about 2% to 5% slower (than the 6071) in benchmarks that uses OGL (Vulpine, GL Excess, Dronez).

HI,

I got a lower score in GL excess (like warp2search) but my FPS were higher. So i consider these drivers better.

Well if you read my lines carefully we @ Warp2Search only got a lower score in scenes 10,11 & 12 ALTHOUGH the frame counts were actually higher. And the overall score was actually the best we ever achieved to date.

Just to clear things up...

I hope this isn't a repeat of the 'first' ati drivers... oooh boy... now way you can call that optimization.
