Windows cannot find thunk.exe

When I try to install the ATI Catalyst 6.8 drivers, I get this error after the CCC installation finishes. I realize that this sounds somewhat similar to the INF errors that x64 users get, but I am running the 32-bit version of XP. The installation itself seems to complete okay, but when I go into the ATI CCC it still shows the version as Catalyst 6.7. Anyone have any ideas on what is going wrong and how I could fix it?

I am running an X1800 XL card, if that helps at all.

The 6.7 showing in CCC was a typo. as for thunk it should be located here. (C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE)
