Where's the Overdrive option?
I'm gonna put it simple and straight to the point:
I don't have an "Overdrive" option in my CCC. I'm using Cat 6.8 with CCC. There's actually a lot of options i'm not seeing in CCC that i've seen in screenshots of CCC. Just look at my screenshot: ![]() and i even put it in "advanced" view. This isn't a new problem though. I haven't seen the overdrive options in any CCC i've installed. Last i was using was 6.7 and non of the options were the either. I just never cared when i was using 6.7 and below because i was using ATiTool but i decided to try out Ati's Overdrive because the new AtiTool Beta 15 isn't setting the Clocks (it just defaults back to default clocks after i click "set"). AtiTool beta 14 worked perfectly fine though so i might just go back to that if i can't get the Overdrive Option to show. Here are my specs and thanks for all the help: Abit AW8D Motherboard P4 530 3Ghz w/HT @ 4GHz Stable 3:4. Idles at 32 loads 48 max 52 1Gig G.Skill Ram @ 354Mhz 4-4-4-12 2x X1600XT running in CF (Thanks DH and ATi!!) |

If I'm not mistaken Overdrive is only available on certain cards. They are usually the higher end cards such as the x1800xt/xtx and x1900xt/xtx. I don't know if your card support overdrive but it seems like it doesn't.

Hmmm... You're probably right. According to Ati, all XT and X1000 cards should work with Overdrive but then i also read that some cards just dont work yet. Or could it be my card's BIOS? Maybe i should try updating the card's bioses?

I can assure you that the Overdrive tab is NOT supported in the AIW X800XT cards. ATI has no data on their website stating which cards are supported and which ones are not !

If it's me, I would continue using atitool or other o/c utility that works with your card. I also read somewhere that overdrive cannot o/c your card as high as other third part o/c tools. |

X1600 do support Overdrive, at least my X1600XT does, but I had to update my BIOS to get it work. It seams, overdrive isn't supported on cards with older versions of ATI BIOS.

I went over to the sapphire forums and it seems that a lot of people with my card (sapphire X1600XT) aren't seeing the overdrive option. I guess it's the bios that comes on the sapphire cards.
KH, which X1600XT do you have and where/how do you update bios on a vid card? And where can i find the most recent bios for the 1600XT? I'm back to using AtiTool .25 beta 14 by the way and it works perfect even though i can barely OC my cards. Gonna take off the HSF(s) and put some A.S. on the cards and see what happens. I'm also gonna switch the cards around (put my current slot 2 card in slot 1 and vice versa) because i think the card in my pcie slot 2 can OC better.

I too have a Sapphire X1600XT, the new BIOS is in the driver download section. Just go to support -> drivers and select your model.
Before flashing it, make sure, your card does have the correct P/N number (87-5C88-01-SA), it's written on your card, or you can check it with Sandra or some simmilar program. For flashing, I used Winflash. Flashing is easy, but a lot of things can go wrong, so don't forget to backup your current bios and read some guides (mainly what to do when it realy goes wrong) before you start. |
