Asheron's Call 2 with Radeon 9700

I'd like to have some opinions about Asheron's Call 2 MMORPG running on the R300+Cat 3.1 ...

On my rig i have problems (only in this game though) : the game stops for a few seconds (like a lag but it's not that) then continues...

Am i the only doomed or is this an issue in this particular case...?

my rig:
2 x Athlon XP 2000+
Asus A7M266-D
768 MB DDR PC2100 2-2-2
Radeon 9700 with Catalyst 3.1
SB Audigy 1
80 & 40 GB IBM HDD 7200RPM 2MB cache
DVD drive
Plextor 24/10/40 CD-writer
