Hi,
I'm using omega drivers with my x1600 and I was trying to determine the setting of vsync. I went into display, advanced, displays and then clicked on the monitor and then advanced. It shows the vertical as a + and the horizontal as a -. Is the vertical the vsync? and if so, does the + mean its on? that does bring up something confusing - in ATI TRay tools the vsync settings are under the direct3d and opengl entries (and easy to read) but in control panel, display, advanced there is no vsync under those icons.... Does ATI Tray show more options than control panel display? Thanx Gary |

My understanding of the +/- settings on this screen is that is has to do with POLARITY....not Vertical Sync as you and I understand it in gaming.
So, while one can be set to + here, that doesn't mean that Vertical Sync in also on for gaming....but it can be. The two are separate entities. On the page you're referencing, the + = positive; the - = negative. More information here: http://www.sencore.com/newsletter/Ma...te%20Video.htm

Its polarity not VSync.... the Vertical sync on the monitor itself (the monitor syncing to the signal the video card gives) has a positive polarity
