cli.exe
how many instances of it should be running? while searching the task manager, i found that i had three instances of it running; each instance consuming more resources (memory) than the one previous. and how important is it really? i know it's just used to have a "cool looking" ati icon in your task bar, but what other purpose does it serve really?

To get right up your nose, like it did with me, your lucky you got CCC working at all, I can't, one error after another, CCC has to be the most bug ridden piece of dog poo ever programed.

lol....i myself don't like the CCC. i just use it because i have to. i've tried messing around w/ATT before, but i think i'll do more damage than good messing around w/that

I think the main thing is that people need to spend a little bit of time just looking at it before trying to make changes. It certainly has had a way of growing on me. ![]() But, those three instances of cli.exe are the app itself, the Desktop icon AND the Taskbar icon. It's just too much of a resource hog to suit my tastes. |

lol....so you're saying that each instance is those three things? what happens when i open up the CCC itself? will there be a 4th instance of cli.exe? the three all together only consume about 20Mb of RAM when running in the background. hell, internet explorer has taken up nearly 60Mb from time to time on my machine. i don't blame you on not using the CCC. when open, that sucker takes up like 300Mb!
. (kk, maybe it's a slightly over exaggerated, but still).but it shouldn't matter to me soon though.....i'll need to make the switch to the green team very soon .

Does anyone now anyone that has ever had a full computer session without the turdlike 'command line interface' crashing? Did you know that CLI spelt backwards spells Shite?
Please bring back the good old control panel

The first thing i do when i load up the ati drivers and restart is:
Open the CCC and set everything to advanced mode. when the CCC is completely open, disable the Hot Keys and the Systray loader. IF you don't have Overdrive, i've found that forcefully disabling the Service in the services settings (advanced users) can remove the another cli.exe, however i'd suggest not doing this. Only in windows XP 32bit, any driver package beyond 6.6 gives me constant CLI.EXE errors. Windows XP x64, flawless.
