hopefully omegadrive will release some new drivers (be it either the here-mentioned READY 6.11 or the current 6.12) before christmas or at least before the new year... waiting so lang with hardly any information sucks....
the drivers taking some time is not a problem at all, it would just be great to here something about progress sometimes... might be omeag stopped at all or the new driverset is not worth modifying... almost 3 months old 'news' make bad karma
PLEASE let us know, you are still out there! ^^

btw: happy holidays to all of you!!

Hi all,

First off let me say thanks for making the Omega drivers. They saved me some from problems I was having with the stock drivers. Unfortantely I'm having an issue with the Omegas as well. I have an Asus W3J with an ATI Mobility Radeon X1600. Whereas the ATI drivers would cause the laptop to shut down and reboot endlessly if the power cord were removed (6.08 was good, 6.09 had the problem, 6.10 is good and anything after has the problem), the Omega drivers allow the power cord to be removed but the computer will not boot into Windows if booted while the computer is not plugged in. It's a major issue with a laptop. I've heard this issue is related to PowerPlay but I can't find any settings to adjust/disable in the Omega drivers to do any testing.

Thanks!

~ Brett

Bump, or, more plainly, how do you disable PowerPlay with the Omega drivers?

Hello DH,

I have a problem with my Omegadrivers. After I run the installation exe for omega drivers, after I restarted my comp, my windows thinks I don't have the drivers installed. So I tried reinstalling the drivers via start menu option but when reinstalling, the setup says INF not found or something.

I got a Sapphire Radeon x550 graphics card. Anyone know what's my issue? And know a solution?

Para Ayane, welcome to DriverHeaven.
have you completely removed your old drivers first, and then used Driver Cleaner (download it from this site) before installing the omega drivers?

I know that it has come up several times in this thread, but does anybody know what's going on with Omegadrive? There hasn't been a release for more than 3 months.

Has he posted anything about when he would be back? Maybe some of the moderators know what's going on with him. Maybe it's time for me to take a look at the official ATI releases.

hi!

great stuff!!

i just installed it for my mobilitiy radeon 9700.

short before end i was asked if im using a laptop or somithing else in cant remember (maybe another name for pc) and if i wish to disable overclocking.

bc i was told in the installation window to allways choose yess i did.

now overclocking seems to be off, and i dont know how to activate it.

the ption is not highlighted black and says "overclocking disabled"

my question: should i leave it off, or do i need it fr better performance?

and do i have to reinstall and choose no next time.

maybe theres also a manual out there explaining all options, cause theres no help in the prog and i cant find a guide on the homepage.

thanks!!

I you want to enable overclocking, open "atitray.ini" file in the ATT folder, find this:
Code:
; disable overclocking at all
; will be useful on unsupported hardware
opt_disable_ovr=1
change "opt_disable_ovr=1" to "opt_disable_ovr=0", save changes and restart ATT.
By overclocking your card you can get better performace, but be careful, in the worst case you could fry it.

You do know he "is" a beta tester for ATI right? Don't worry he always has a very good reason when he hasn't given us new drivers, he always knows things we will never know of ATI.

sure, that might be true. but it wouldn't hurt to give the community some information... not knowing weather there might be new drivers in a week, after the next official release or even never again really really sucks :/
omega is stuck now stuck at v 6.9 with "news" from 10/07/06 on his site while ati released 7.1 a week ago and we still have no clue if there might me new omegadrivers sometime...

Does anybody (or Omega) know if the 6.11 catalyst drivers are still being worked on (for an omega release)?

(the 6.11 release is the last revision for my card..)

I don't think so. From what I have read, Omegadrive has hardly enough time to work on actual release, so it is VERY unlikely (I could say impossible).
