How to get 720p out for sure from X1600
I have connected projector Panasonic PT-AX100 to DVI port in my laptop. Laptop that I have is ASUS A6Ja with Ati mobility radeon X1600 in PCI express bus with latest omega drivers.
Problem is that I'm not able get native resolution 720p from DVI. I can set resolution to 1280x720 in DVI and analog(D-sub) with out problems, but results is blurry picture. Even if choose 720p option from tools, my projector says that incoming signal is 1080i. How can make sure that out going signal is 720p? Is there possibility to disable 1080i? Thanks |

I that conversation didn't help a lot! It is just discussing about i's and p's.
I just need to know how to get 720p out from DVI from ati x1600 mobility radeon if laptops fixed screen doesn't support 720p. Fixed screen native resolution is 1280x800 but 720 support is missing from driver. It seems that omega driver is not able override windows setting at it gives 1080i because that resolutio is supported by in fixed screen driver. Currently i have solved problem with power strip. Picture is good but result is compicated to use. |

I'm using Omega's latest 7.01 Drivers but on a Desktop, not a laptop. In the ATT and Control Panel that come with Omega's drivers, there is a "Force 720p" and "Force 1080i" option located under Troubleshooting. Have you tried that already?

Sorry for late replay.
I have tried that and from laptop everything looks ok. But When look from projector is says that incoming signal is 1080i. If I compare the result with result that I get with power strip it verifieds that signal really is 1080i. Picture is more fussy and movement production is worse. This problem may be also related to EDID that projector sent to the computer or it doesn't sent EDID at all. Mostlikely EDID tells that 1080i is supported and 720p is not. When that is compined with 720p missing for fixed screen then this is the result. But in anotherhand when I created own EDID to projector it didn't solve issue. My shareware days in powerstrip are running out soon so I think I will spend one more day with omega driver soon. Thanks for help so far. |
