60fps problem with Omega Drivers.
Hi people.
I get an odd problem after installing Omega drivers instead of the ATI official drivers. I am simply locked at 60fps on Counter Strike 1.6, with mouse and keyboard freezes. My "Wait for vert. sync." is Always On (DirectX and OGL), but my AGP Write is always Off and I can't manage to switch it On (after each reboot, it goes Off). I checked my BIOS, the AGP 4x support is ON, and the AGP Fast Write is Off. I don't know if all this is linked to my problem, but please help ... I'd like to be able to get the best from these drivers and not to reinstall ATI official drivers. Many thanks. |

Wait for vert. sync normally locks the fps to the refresh-rate, so if your refreshrate is 60 - then youŽll only get 60fps.
In order to fix this, set wait for vert. sync to "always off" for botch directx and opengl. |

Omg ...
That's right. I got confused somewhere. It seems to work much better but I can't test on a full server cause of my Internet connection. I'll test it in a few days and tell you if it's really ok. Thanks dude =). |

Ok.
I reinstalled the basic Display Drivers with the ATI Tray Tools, but I still get mouse and keyboard freezes. I have all the preferences to "High Performance" but still ... I don't know what to do ... Does someone have a solution ? Or how to completely uninstall a driver in order to reinstall the whole thing again ? Is it normal that my AGP Write is Off ? =( Last edited by NaG; Dec 27, 2006 at 11:47 AM. |

Problem fixed ...
That was simply a Steam bug due to a bugged update. Each time I launch CS, I simply have to set the hl.exe process priority to "Low" in order to fix it. OMG how Valve developers suxx .. |
