HELP! Unknown Device (related to Omega drivers)
Hello DriverHeaven:
This is Zeon, I have some troubles installing the Omega Driver. (The current one). After I followed the steps of the OmegaDrivers FAQ to install the drivers. Everything seems to be fine. My computer DID recognize the ATI drivers and everything. But lately after restart (might be second restart after installing the driver) My computer found a unknown device which is related to the Omega Driver. Here is the screenshot, hope you guys have any clue about how to fix this, thank you!

go to ati's website and download the WDM drivers via the driver & software link.. This usually fixes the unknown device connected to the omega drivers.Ati/Amd has a code that stops us giving a direct link to the files you may need.
ATI (this screen shot is a little old and this may be updated since this was taken). ![]() If this don't fix you're problem, sorry in advance. |

Thank You MIG31
But will that affect the Omega driver's file? or any "damage" to Omega Drivers? BTW. I see that the file you recommend me is for All in Wonder? But my video card is Radeon (show in the first message's screenshot) |

It's been sometime since i last had a ati card in my system,And i used the omegas myself also.....
It shouldn't affect the omegas you have installed, but im not certain on that....Also being here for some time now and have seen this question asked many times, and is always striaght after an omega install. And the WDM drivers is usually the fix to the unknown device. Youre x1800 is it a vivo card..i think that supports the ability for TV out etc. Quote:

Mig is right on the money. You need to install that WDM file to get rid of the Unknown Device. It's totally separate and will not have any ill affect on the Omega drivers. It's standard procedure for them.
That's one minor reason I now prefer to use the NGO ATI Optimized drivers as Regeneration incorporates the WDM drivers in the installation thereby removing this development for the unwary. If you're interested in trying them, they are very similar to Omega's and the guys even know each other and are friends. Get them here: www.ngohq.com Go up to Files and scroll down to the latest ones....based on CAT 6.12. |
