Computer won't resume after standby with Omega drivers

Hi all,

I've been using Omega drivers with my X850xt on Win XP SP2 for some time now but since version 3.8.291 I have a problem with getting my computer to resume after standby, the screen becomes black for 30-60 seconds and the the computer just reboots.

I know it is because of the Omega drivers since I replaced them with the ones from ATI and it solved the problem. Now I tried the latest 3.8.330 Omega drivers and have exactly the same problem, moving to ATI's 7.1 drivers solves the problem.

Is there anything to do about this or is it a known issue that I either need to live with or switch to ATI's driver?

Thanks.

It's not Omega's drivers but the version of ATT that it installs. I have a x850XT PE and the same inability to resume from standby when ATT is running, but this only occurs in the newer versions. Several others have reported the same thing.

Uninstall ATT and then install version 1.0.5.880. This version does everything you need it to for our older cards.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I guess I will go back to the old ATT at keep checking the newer versions once they get out for a fix. Hope it will get resolved at some point.

Any idea where I can find the older 1.0.5.880 version? I could only find the latest one on guru3d.

Thanks.

I'm not sure which version you're using. But, there's a "981" version that's working very well on my system. You can get this one here:

ATI Tray Tools Downloads

Let us know if it works.

Which card do you have, Dyre? 8xx or 1xxx series?

I don't fault Ray for this since he doesn't get any help or support or hw from ATI, despite the fact that many of us many of us would be using NVidia cards if CCC was the only option for ATI. He has to buy his own hardware so ATT is naturally tuned for whatever card he currently has, and he upgrade to 1xxx series a while ago. So I don't know if it's possible for him to even reproduce this 8xx standby problem at this point...
