Hi !
I have some Problems with my new Radeon 9100. First of all, my 3dmark-points are quite bad: 6946 !! Second: In Quake III i get in all 3 tested resolutions 130 FPS (640x480, 800x600, 1024x768). In Quake I i get only 290 FPS, a friend of mine got about 600 FPS with a Athlon Thunderbird 1300 and Radeon 8500. Driver Settings are Default except the V-Sync is set to "always off" and Trueform disabled My Sys: K7S5A + Athlon 1800 XP 512 MB SD-RAM CL2 Radeon 9100 (3Dconnect) Sound Onboard 15" Monitor (1024 @ 75 Hz Desktop Res.)Win98se Whats wrong ??? Greetings che |

You're right.
You should be getting at least around 8K with that rig, I get about 8250 with my 8500 on a 1.4 tuly @ 1.75 running 98se.....what clock speeds is your 9100 set to? (PLEASE tell me it ain't a "Powercolor" card.....
)

It's a connect3D Radeon 9100. Memory clock - 200,25 MHz Engine clock - 249,75 MHz Catalyst Driver 3.2 DirectX 9 I can't adjust the Clockspeed within the driver-panel... these values are taken from powerstrip. I think my Graphics-card ignores the V-Sync settings .... I've set (for testing only) the Vsync on... but i get 130 FPS in Quake III (V-sync settings enabled in CPanel AND ingame). Another Problem is: Windows always tries to install 2 Monitors... but i've plugged just 1 mon.@the analog-port Greetings che Last edited by che_guewara; Mar 23, 2003 at 04:46 PM. |

200/245? Really? My 8500 default is 275/275 and I can take it up to around 300/320 without too much problem.....that probably has a lot to do with it. As for the monitor thing, do you have an onboard video device on your mobo?
EDITED BITS: I had me GPU clockspeed screwed up, went back and fixed.

The Clockspeed is at default ! I havent changed anything... but anyway ... in normal settings 8000 pts in 3dmark is minimum...
I've disabled the onboard sound and plugged in my old SB 512 PCI... no framerate-plus either

Check you BIOS settings and make sure your AGP Apreture is set to the same amount of memory your video card is. Also shut off any shadowing for your video card in BIOS. Shut off any system caching in BIOS. Using BIOS shadowing for any system component can slow the system down. Make sure the memory configuration is set to auto in your BIOS.
Perform a clean boot by shutting off any programs booting at startup. If you press CTRL+ALT+DELETE at the same time your "Close Program" dialog box appears. Make sure Explorer and Systray are the only two applications running. Shut off your Antivirus program if running. Also make sure your motherboard 4in1 drivers are updated, your AGP miniport driver is updated, DirectX is current, your video card drivers are current and make sure your audio drivers are current. Also when you do a benchmark again, try shutting off the audio, I have found that certain audio cards will cause poor performance. So try the test with no audio. Also make sure the DMA is enabled for the hard drives and CDRom drives. |

that score is normal for a 9100 with such clockspeeds , maybe try to flash a 250/250 bios on it , if that works without artifacting (play your fav game for an hour) , then try to flash it to 275/275
ALWAYS make a backup of your original bios and maybe if u don't like to risk to much you should try to overclock it with rivatuner or rage3d tweak , or ... if u can overclock to 275/275 with one of those tweakprogs and u don't get artifacting u can flash the bios. look on this forum for bios download links I'd buy the radeon 9500 pro instead of the ti4200 m8's , its faster and supports dx9 . It aint that much expensiver eiter, at least in belgium. |

@gunnix
Thanks for advice !!! But the problem has solved by itself ! The card is damaged ! On Desktop, a kind of raster-effect appeared... When clicking the Start-Button, and the Start menu opens. After that, the raster appears in the same size of the start menu... Hope you understand this mess ![]() I'd buy me an ATI 9500 but most of the games I play are running better with a geforce (GPL, Nascar Racing200X) Greetings |

Seems this 9100 card has more problems than it solves........despite Omegadrive's efforts with the drivers. See my post re the same card. My scores are 8962 with 3Dmark 20000, 6801 with 2001 and 1055 with 2003 but as you see from my post things are far from hunky dory! At least Omegadrive has got CMR2 working without Codemasters weird workaround!!

Haha! I see what's wrong now, you have SDRAM! Get a new Nforce2 mobo, and some Fast DDr and you'll be getting AT LEAST 8K, probably more like 9k-10k with some tweaking.

I f I am not mistaken some 9100's have a 64-bit bus. That would be your problem. DOwnload riva tuner, it will tell you if you have a 128 or a 64 bit bus. I have 250/200 which I oc to 290/240 but even before that I got 9k in 3dmark hell after oc I managed a little over 10k.
