ATI and WMV9 aceleration
Hello... i'm havin' big isssues wit windows media video aceleration in both of my pcs.
first the feedback on slower pc. It's a ahtlon xp+ 1.533hz, i used to play 1440x1080 60fps 18mbps wmv9 files on it using a nvidia's gforce4. I have today on it a ati radeon9600 pro, and the aceleration does not work at all... Now i bought a new pc, a notebook wit ati xpress 1100, turion 64 2 gz, it can play perfectly those files, using 98% of cpu and not using wmv aceleration from ati, if i turn aceleration on it becomes exactly the same as in my slow computer. I consider so that there is some bug or some trick to get that aceleration workin, any1 knows how/what should i do? thank you |

On the new PC, have you downloaded the latest motherboard/chipset drivers for it yet? If not, please do so. Check for any BIOS updates as well. Almost all new PCs will have some newer drivers on the manufacturer's website. Other than this, you don't say which ATI drivers you're using? Officials? Third Party? Which version? Will need more information to help further. |

thanks for replying and sorry for delay in replying....
For radeon 9600pro i'm using driver version 7.1, official, for notebook i'm using the one handled by acer since i didn't found "xpress 1100" at ati website. And yes i have had a clean install on pc that switched from nvidia to ati. |
